Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an application that is screened by a committee, and we sometimes do phone interviews or even home visits to be sure that the cats are being placed in safe, loving, permanent homes.
We are an all-volunteer organization with outside full-time jobs. We will respond to applications within 48 – 72 hours. Due to volume of applications, only approved applicants will receive a follow-up.

Adopter Attributes
Our adoption process includes an application that is screened by a committee, and we sometimes do phone interviews or even home visits to be sure that the cats are being placed in safe, loving, permanent homes.
We are looking for the following attributes in an adopter:
- Longevity of pet ownership
- All resident pets must be altered and current on vaccinations
- All resident cats must have tested negative for FELV
- Good/Excellent Vet reference
- Approval from Landlord if you rent
- All felines are 100% indoor only
- Absolutely no declawing
- We generally do not adopt to families with children under 5 unless they have grown up around cats and/or kittens as the case may be.

What to Know
We have a 100% lifetime guarantee! If there is any issue, we request/require that the cat be returned to us and not just abandoned or rehomed privately. In short… we have rather strict adoption criteria, but are deeply invested in every kitty that comes to us.

Adoption Fee
Our adoption fee is just $125 for all these services and commitment. For a bonded pair of kittens or cats, we offer a 2-for-1 adoption fee. Some of our adult cats that have been in foster care over a year, the adoption fee is sponsored by the foster. For more information, contact us via email at TylerTXCats@gmail.com.
3-3-3 Rule to Adopting
3 Days, 3 Weeks, 3 Months
The 3-3-3 Rule is a general guideline. Every pet is unique and will adjust to its new home at different paces. Patience is always key!
In the first 3 Days, your new pet may feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what is going on. They may not feel comfortable being themselves, and this is very normal. Monitor your pet’s stress, and give them time and space to adjust to their new home.
In the first 3 Weeks, your new pet will start to settle into their home and begin to feel more comfortable. They will begin to realize that this place could be their new forever home. As they become more comfortable, they may begin to test the boundaries of their surroundings. Be patient with your pet and correct them with training to help them learn.
Within 3 Months, your pet will have finally started to feel comfortable in their new home. A bond of love and trust will have formed, and your pet will understand they are a part of a family now!
