Using no-kill principles, it is the mission of O’Malley Alley Cat Rescue to provide for the adoption and placement of rescued cats and kittens in permanent homes. We are further dedicated to the care and well-being of these homeless cats and to educating the public on the need to spay/neuter pets, to reduce the number of cats born each year, and the prevention of animal cruelty. We work to save today’s cats and prevent tomorrow’s.

our rescue
With respect and compassion for all cats, O’Malley Alley promotes lifelong relationships between people and animals, providing medical needs and foster care for each precious life until adopted into a good home. We strive to work with animal control and other rescue groups to save homeless cats in our community.
We also educate the public on the need to spay/neuter and alleviate suffering in the feral cat population; help individuals and businesses manage feral cats on their property or under their care and to provide education on nutritious food, clean water, low-cost shelters for feral cats; and TNR (trap-neuter-return).
Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered and community supported. All our vital life-saving funds come from generous supporters who believe in our mission statement. O’Malley maintains a network of trustworthy rescue partners in the DFW and Austin areas, using those resources frequently to get as many East Texas cats off the streets, vetted, and into indoor only homes as possible.
How you can help
We rely solely on donations, fundraisers, and volunteers for all our needs
O’Malley Alley Cat Rescue is focused on rescuing, rehoming, spaying and neutering cats in need, in and around the Tyler, Texas area. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that does not receive local, state or federal funding, nor does it receive any support from a national branch or the SPCA. We rely solely on the generosity of individuals and corporations, fundraising and volunteering for all our needs.
100% of donations go to the vetting, maintenance, and care of the cats in our program.
All our rescued cats are in foster homes. We are not a shelter. Please spay and neuter your pets and neighborhood cats.
Your donation is tax-deductible.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an application that is screened by a committee, and we sometimes do phone interviews or even home visits to be sure that the cats are being placed in safe, loving, permanent homes.
We are looking for the following attributes in an adopter:
- Longevity of pet ownership
- All resident pets must be altered and current on vaccinations
- All resident cats must have tested negative for FELV
- Good/Excellent Vet reference
- Approval from Landlord if you rent
- All felines are 100% indoor only
- Absolutely no declawing
- We generally do not adopt to families with children under 5 unless they have grown up around cats and/or kittens as the case may be.
Prior to filling out the Adoption Application, please read the 3-3-3 Rule to Adopting (3 Days, 3 Weeks, 3 Months).

What to Know
We have a 100% lifetime guarantee! If there is any issue, we request/require that the cat be returned to us and not just abandoned or rehomed privately. In short… we have rather strict adoption criteria, but are deeply invested in every kitty that comes to us.
You can download our Adoption Application and return it to TylerTXCats@gmail.com.
Adoption Fee
Our adoption fee is just $125 for all these services and commitment. For a bonded pair of kittens or cats, we offer a 2-for-1 adoption fee. Some of our adult cats that have been in foster care over a year, the adoption fee is sponsored by the foster. For more information, contact us via email at TylerTXCats@gmail.com.
3-3-3 Rule to Adopting
3 Days, 3 Weeks, 3 Months
The 3-3-3 Rule is a general guideline. Every pet is unique and will adjust to its new home at different paces. Patience is always key!
In the first 3 Days, your new pet may feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what is going on. They may not feel comfortable being themselves, and this is very normal. Monitor your pet’s stress, and give them time and space to adjust to their new home.
In the first 3 Weeks, your new pet will start to settle into their home and begin to feel more comfortable. They will begin to realize that this place could be their new forever home. As they become more comfortable, they may begin to test the boundaries of their surroundings. Be patient with your pet and correct them with training to help them learn.
Within 3 Months, your pet will have finally started to feel comfortable in their new home. A bond of love and trust will have formed, and your pet will understand they are a part of a family now!
